Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi became the Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) in June 2024, after serving on the SC’s Board since August 2023. He has over 38 years of work experience, including 30 years at PwC, where he rose to the ranks of Executive Chairman of PwC Malaysia. He also held several leadership roles at the firm in Global Islamic Finance, Sustainability and Climate Change practices. Dato’ Faiz also has been a key advisor for Federal and State Governments in Malaysia. He read law at the University of Durham (UK) before being called to the English Bar and holds other prestigious qualifications and titles.
Tengku Zarina Tengku Chik
Chief Executive Officer, Securities Industry Development Corporation
With over 30 years of global financial services experience, Tengku Zarina is the CEO of the Securities Industry Development Corporation, Malaysia’s training arm development of Securities Commission. Throughout her career, she has held various positions in international banking, corporate banking, business development, banking operations, operational excellence and strategic transformation. Notably, she served as the Country Head for Maybank operations in the UK and Deputy CEO of Maybank Hong Kong. Tengku Zarina has also undertaken strategic transformation roles, including leading initiatives to streamline processes and enhance business operations. She has served as a Supervisory Board member for Uzbek Leasing International in Uzbekistan.
Datin Azalina Adham
Managing Director, Securities Commission Malaysia
Datin Azalina Adham is the Managing Director of the Securities Commission Malaysia, appointed in January 2023. She has over 29 years of experience in the financial and capital market including investment banking, corporate finance and the exchange business. Her expertise includes strategy and transformation, strategic communications and business development. She was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of Bursa Malaysia, driving transformation initiatives such as Bursa Marketplace and Leading Entrepreneur Accelerator Platform (LEAP) Market. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management/Finance from Purdue University and the Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School.
Khairy Jamaluddin
Former Minister of Health Malaysia
Co-host of Southeast Asia’s No.1 Current Affairs Podcast, ‘Keluar Sekejap’
Khairy Jamaluddin most recently served as Malaysia’s Minister
of Health, where he led the country’s COVID-19 response,
focusing on digital healthcare transformation. As Minister of
Science, Technology, and Innovation, he facilitated widespread
vaccination efforts, combatting misinformation and deploying
mega vaccination centres and mobile units. Previously, Khairy was
Minister of Youth and Sports. His career began as a journalist and
presenter for “Dateline Malaysia.” He also served as a policy aide,
investment banker, entrepreneur, and Co-Founder of The Centre.
He is a prominent public speaker and commentator on political
and economic issues. Khairy studied Philosophy, Politics, and
Economics at Oxford and holds a Master’s in Legal and Political

Jamaludin Bujang

Jamaludin Bujang is the Managing Partner (Malaysia) at Gobi
Partners, overseeing operations and investment activities in Kuala
Lumpur. He joined Gobi in 2019 after supporting its ASEAN
expansion since 2014. With 15 years in equity research, investment
evaluation, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions, and
14 years in venture capital, Jamal was previously CEO of MAVCAP,
Malaysia’s largest venture capital firm. At MAVCAP, he focused
on raising private sector funds and managing partnerships with
international VC firms. He helped create and manage nine funds
totaling over US$500 million. At Gobi, Jamal launched a US$20
million venture fund in Pakistan with the Fatima Group.
Shahril Anas
CEO, Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad (MAVCAP)
Anas is the CEO of Malaysia Venture Capital Management
Berhad (MAVCAP), Malaysia’s largest venture capital firm. He has
over 25 years of extensive experience in global investments and
fund raising. At MAVCAP, Shahril has grown and strengthened
Malaysia’s venture capital ecosystem by establishing Corporate
Funds of Funds and partnerships to provide more available funds
in the market, specifically for the technology sector.Under his
stewardship, MAVCAP has emerged as the first unicorn builder
for Malaysia with Carsome, initially funded by a group of funds
under MAVCAP.Prior to joining MAVCAP in 2015, Shahril previously
worked with the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Malaysia
Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) and Unit Peneraju

Chai Kien Poon, CFA
Country Head, Funding Societies Malaysia
Kien Poon, or KP, leads Funding Societies Malaysia, driving dayto-
day operations and business strategies for the largest SME
digital finance platform in the country. Under his leadership, the
company has disbursed over RM2 billion in working capital since
2017, supporting the growth of MSMEs. KP actively participates in
industry conferences and media engagements, fostering thought
leadership in MSME finance. Before this, he was a Senior Manager
at the Securities Commission Malaysia, focusing on capital market
development and regulation. KP is a Chartered Financial Analyst
(CFA) and holds a degree in Economics from The London School
of Economics and Political Science.
Aireen Omar
President (Investment & Ventures) of Capital A
Aireen Omar is the President (Investment & Ventures) of Capital A (formerly known as AirAsia Group). An inspiring female leader in tech, she is responsible for Capital A’s ventures builder pillar (Ventures) strategy, promoting innovation while overseeing digital strategic group-wide initiatives throughout the Group and encouraging collaboration across Capital A’s businesses and markets.
Prior to this, she was President of AirAsia Digital, AirAsia Deputy Group CEO, Digital & Technology; CEO of AirAsia Berhad, Director of Corporate Finance & Treasury. Matt Kamil
Co-founder & CMO of Aphelia
Matt is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Aphelia, a startup specializing in wireless power technology for space. Transitioning from a non-technical background, he co-founded Aphelia to merge business acumen with innovation. Aphelia represented Malaysia at the 2023 Startup World Cup and the 2022 Asia Entrepreneurship Award. Razlan Hamdan
Founder, CEO & CTO of Aphelia
Razlan is the founder of Aphelia, a deep tech space startup developing wireless power technology for satellites and Moon applications. He is a founding member of the Malaysia Space Industry Consortium (MASIC). Aphelia has secured prospective customers from the USA, Canada, and Europe and has received awards from Real Tech Fund, Asian Entrepreneur Award 2022, and Cradle Fund. They recently won the Malaysia region of Startup World Cup 2023 and competed globally in San Francisco, attracting foreign VCs. Sinan Ismail
Founder, CEO, Durioo+
Sinan Ismail, Founder and CEO of Durioo+ (YC W22), leads a children’s digital entertainment startup that offers a safe streaming platform emphasizing Islamic values for Muslim children. With over 34,000 subscribers and a team of 70, Durioo+ produces original content and has more than 9,000 videos on the platform. Sinan also founded Digital Durian, known for successful animated series like Omar & Hana (6B YouTube views) and Didi & Friends. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at UNITAR Malaysia and has been recognized by Digerati50 and Tatler’s GenT for his contributions to Malaysia’s digital landscape.

The King of Malaysian comedy, Douglas Lim, is a versatile entertainer known for his work in television, theater, film, standup, radio, and content creation. He gained fame from the sitcom Kopitiam, earning a Best Actor nomination at the Asian Television Awards. Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Member of Parliament
for Setiawangsa, and Vice President of the People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN).
A King’s College London Law graduate, he served in Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s office after a brief stint at Permodalan Nasional
Berhad.
Elected as Selangor State Assemblyman for the Seri Setia constituency in 2008, he has also served as Deputy Speaker for the
Selangor State Assembly and subsequently as a State Executive Councillor.

Perpetua “Pep” George, Managing Director at PwC Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, specialises in Asia Pacific Sustainability and Biodiversity. Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER), and the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) Chief Executive Officer. Dr
Hezri has extensive experience advising international organisations such as the UNDP, UNESCAP, and the Asian Development

Paul Holthus is a globally recognized leader and speaker on ocean and coastal investment, conservation and sustainable development. He founded the World Ocean Council (WOC) – the Global Blue Economy Business and Investment Organization. The WOC brings together investment, shipping, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, offshore energy, submarine cables, ports, and other sectors for global leadership, collaboration and action. The WOC Ocean Investment Platform is the global structure/process linking investors, ocean industries and innovators. The annual WOC Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS) is the premier high-level global ocean business event on “Corporate Ocean Responsibility”. In 2020 he launched the annual Global Blue Finance Summit (BlueFIN).
Prof. Dr. Yeong Yik Sung
Director, Institute of Climate Adaptation and Marine Biotechnology
Prof. Dr. Yeong Yik Sung currently serves as the Director of the Institute of Climate Adaptation and Marine Biotechnology at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). With a career spanning decades, he has emerged as a prominent scientist, renowned for his ground-breaking research and invaluable contributions to the fields of aquaculture and marine biotechnology. His expertise extends far beyond national borders, as he actively collaborates with counterparts from the European Union, ASEAN, China, Japan, Indonesia, and others. At the helm of the International Artemia and Aquaculture Consortium (IAAC), he assumes the role of Chair, steering initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainable practices and innovation within the aquaculture industry. Additionally,
he serves as the Secretary of the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN), further solidifying his commitment to advancing education and research in related fields across Southeast Asia.
Vikas Arora
Chief of Impact Investing, AVPN
Vikas leads AVPN’s overall strategy and direction of Impact Investing.
This includes driving plans and strategic operations to effectively implement the organization’s impact investing priorities, identifying impact opportunities across AVPN’s four impact focus areas of climate action, gender equality, youth and health; and fostering strategic partnerships with AVPN members, industry stakeholders and business partners.Prior to joining AVPN Vikas spent three decades in the banking industry including 25 years at Deutsche Bank.Vikas completed his Post-Graduate Diploma in Organisation & Leadership for Social Change at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.Outside of work, Vikas actively contributes to the community as an Independent Board Director (pro bono) for Heartware Network, a non-profit organisation in Singapore.
Munirah Khairuddin

Munirah Khairuddin, CEO of Principal Malaysia and Global Shariah, also serves as Managing Director of Strategic Distribution & Institutional Client Relations for Southeast Asia & Global Shariah. Since joining Principal in 2006, she’s led significant growth in assets under management (AUM) and enhanced institutional and retail leadership, particularly in asset management and retirement solutions. Munirah’s diverse background includes roles as a G7 Economist, strategist for a Fortune 500 oil and gas company, and fixed income portfolio manager at Rothschild Asset Management in London. She’s received prestigious accolades such as Asset Management CEO of the Year Malaysia 2024 and CEO of the Year, Malaysia in 2014 and 2015. Munirah holds a Chartered Financial Analyst charter and graduated from the University of Newcastle, UK, with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting & Financial Analysis.

Shazurawati Abd Karim is the Executive Vice President of TM One, the business solution arm of TM serving large enterprise and government sector nationwide across various industry verticals. She is an experienced professional who has held various leadership positions in multiple domains from operations to technology, partnership, transformation and business services. She also serves as a Director in several operating companies under TM One and sits on the Industry Advisory Committee for the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education. Educated at Cambridge University, Shazurawati has also completed a leadership program at Stanford University.

Arina Kok is a Partner at Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn Bhd, leading EY APAC Decarbonization and Malaysia Climate Change and Sustainability Services. With over 18 years of experience, she has advised ministries, regulators, and multinational companies across various industries, including oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, and education. Arina collaborates with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Bursa Malaysia, and the Securities Commission Malaysia on green policies. She supports Central Bank of Malaysia and other financial institutions in climate risk workshops and conferences.
Arina leads significant decarbonization projects, including scope 3 emissions calculations, ESG strategies, and transition finance
frameworks for high-emitting sectors.

Rahimah is currently the Head of Sustainability for Malaysia Aviation Group, where she leads the group’s sustainability strategy, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. With her in-depth experience in restructuring and aviation industry, Rahimah drives Malaysia Aviation’s ESG goals and performance in helping businesses transition to a sustainable future, fostering social and environmental well-being. Rahimah brings with her over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, she held various positions including in Strategy & Restructuring, Operations, and Quality Assurance. She began her career in KPMG conducting assurance, including due diligence, mergers, and acquisitions. She is a Chartered Accountant, earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from International Islamic University, Malaysia, and subsequently completed the General Management Programme from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Tunku Alizakri Alias

Tunku Alizakri Alias is the Chairman of Penjana Kapital Sendirian Berhad, a key component of Malaysia’s innovation economy initiative. He serves on the boards of public companies such as Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad. He was the former chairman of MAVCAP (Malaysia’s largest VC fund). With over 25 years of management experience, he previously served as the CEO of the Employees Provident Fund of Malaysia (EPF), initiating groundbreaking projects such as sustainability investment policies and the Malaysia Social Security Blueprint. He is actively involved in sustainability efforts and serves as an advisor on sustainability at the state level. He is also recognised for his contributions to musical theatre production with PAN Productions Sdn Bhd.
Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar

Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar is currently the Chairman of Bursa Malaysia Berhad. He is regarded as one of the most accomplished
corporate leaders in Malaysia having successfully led as CEO three major organisations in infrastructure development (UEM
Group 2001 – 2004), telecommunications (Telekom Malaysia 2004 – 2008) and financial services (Maybank 2008 – 2013).
