YB Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad
Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability
Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Member of Parliament
for Setiawangsa, and Vice President of the People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN).
A King’s College London Law graduate, he served in Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s office after a brief stint at Permodalan Nasional
Berhad.
Elected as Selangor State Assemblyman for the Seri Setia constituency in 2008, he has also served as Deputy Speaker for the
Selangor State Assembly and subsequently as a State Executive Councillor.
In 2018, he was elected to Parliament, representing the Setiawangsa constituency, and successfully defended the seat in 2022.
As the author of “Malaysian Son: A Progressive’s Political Journey in the Heart of Southeast Asia,” he continues to champion
progressive policies.
Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi
Executive Chairman, Securities Commission Malaysia
Dato’ Faiz was appointed the Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission SC, the capital markets regulator of Malaysia, in June 2024 by the Malaysian Minister of Finance. He was previously a Board member on the SC since August 2023.
He was the Chairman of PwC Malaysia for 11 out of his 30 years with the firm. He has over 38 years of experience in the audit and business advisory services in Malaysia and the UK. He was the leader of PwC’s Global Islamic Finance Team practice from 2007 to September 2012. He was also PwC’s Malaysia’s Financial Services Leader and joint Head of Audit and lead the ESG and Shariah Investing part of PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change practice in Malaysia. He retired as a partner and the Executive Chairman of PwC Malaysia in June 2023.
Much of his recent work has been with the Federal and State Governments involving work related to Accrual Accounting, acting as an Administrator for an airline and certain government entities and being part of the Federal Government National Covid vaccine rollout. He has also been involved in the financial restructuring of government agencies as well as investigations.
Dato’ Faiz is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a Fellow of ICAEW. He has held the post of President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Chairman of the Malaysia Accounting Standards Board, President of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club and ICAEW City Group Chairman.
He was educated in Malaysia and UK and read law at the University of Durham before being called to the English Bar. He is an alumni of Lincoln’s Inn and a member of the Inns of Court of Malaysia. He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. He was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’, which carries the title Dato’ in 2013 by the Sultan of Selangor. He was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctorate of Laws by the University of Nottingham in July 2016.
Tengku Zarina Tengku Chik

Tengku Zarina is the CEO of the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC), the learning and development arm of the
Securities Commission Malaysia. She has over 30 years of experience in global financial industry in various leadership roles spanning industry capacity building, business strategies, digital acceleration and stakeholder collaboration. She is currently an Industry Panel Advisor for the Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Tengku Zarina’s international experience includes the roles of Country Head of Maybank in the UK and Deputy CEO of Maybank in Hong Kong.
She had also served as a Supervisory Board member for Uzbek Leasing International in Uzbekistan.
Professor Tan Sri Dr. Jemilah Mahmood

Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, Executive Director at Sunway Centre for Planetary Health, Sunway University, is a seasoned medical
professional with over 20 years of crisis management experience in health, disasters, and conflicts. Holding advisory roles in
Malaysia’s government, she’s also an Adjunct Professor at Universiti of Malaya and Sustainability Advisor at Air Asia. Globally,
she serves on boards like Roche and Norwegian Refugee Council and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future
Council. Previously, she held key positions at IFRC and UN, and founded MERCY Malaysia. Recognized with numerous awards,
she’s a strong advocate for planetary health and sustainability. Dr. Mahmood is a graduate of National University of Malaysia and
a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists UK.

Asia Pacific Sustainability, Biodiversity, Director, PwC Malaysia
Perpetua “Pep” George, Managing Director at PwC Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, specialises in Asia Pacific Sustainability and Biodiversity. With over 20 years of experience in sustainability strategy across private and civil sectors, she drives PwC’s efforts to translate sustainability theory into actionable initiatives. Pep focuses on integrating biodiversity concerns into PwC’s global strategy, enhancing the firm’s expertise in sustainability. Formerly, she served as Wilmar International’s General Manager for Group Sustainability, leading sustainability strategy implementation in one of the world’s largest agribusiness and palm oil companies. Pep’s role underscores PwC’s commitment to addressing environmental challenges and advancing sustainable practices in various sectors.
Dr. Hezri Adnan
Director, Group Sustainability, Bursa Malaysia
Dr Hezri Adnan is the Director of Group Sustainability at Bursa Malaysia. He is also a Trustee of the World Wide Fund for Nature
(WWF) Malaysia. Hezri has served as an Independent Advisor of Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad, Executive Director of the
Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER), and the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) Chief Executive Officer. Dr
Hezri has extensive experience advising international organisations such as the UNDP, UNESCAP, and the Asian Development
Bank on development and environmental challenges in Southeast Asia. He has held visiting academic positions abroad at Kyoto
University and the Australian National University, where he obtained his PhD in Public Policy in 2006.
Muazzam Mohamad
Senior Vice President, Head of Investment Stewardship Division, Permodalan Nasional Berhad
With 17 years of experience at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), this seasoned professional currently holds a leadership role in the Investment Stewardship Division. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in driving PNB’s ESG commitments, including the objective of achieving a Net Zero Portfolio by 2050. He founded the World Ocean Council (WOC) – the Global Blue Economy Business and Investment Organization. The WOC brings together investment, shipping, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, offshore energy, submarine cables, ports, and other sectors for global leadership, collaboration and action. Prof. Dr. Yeong Yik Sung

Prof. Dr. Yeong Yik Sung currently serves as the Director of the Institute of Climate Adaptation and Marine Biotechnology at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). Heesu Jeon

Heesu has eight years of experience working at national and international organisations in investment and trade. In her current
role at UNDP, she collaborates with national stakeholders to bridge the SDG financing gap. Notably, she spearheaded the successful launch of the Malaysia SDG Investor Map. She is now venturing into innovative financing for impact, such as climate blended finance. Prior to joining UNDP, she worked at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), including three years in Tanzania, where she served as a commercial attaché at the Korean Embassy and the deputy head of the KOTRA Tanzania country office. With over 18 years of experience, she has advised ministries, regulators, and multinational companies across various industries, including oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, and education. Arina collaborates with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Bursa Malaysia, and the Securities Commission Malaysia on green policies. She supports Central Bank of Malaysia and other financial institutions in climate risk workshops and conferences.

Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar
Chairman of Bursa Malaysia
Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar is currently the Chairman of Bursa Malaysia Berhad. He is regarded as one of the most accomplished
corporate leaders in Malaysia having successfully led as CEO three major organisations in infrastructure development (UEM
Group 2001 – 2004), telecommunications (Telekom Malaysia 2004 – 2008) and financial services (Maybank 2008 – 2013).
He served as Group Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) from August 2016 to June 2018 following completion
of his term as a Senator and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Economic Planning from June 2013 to
June 2016.He also currently serves as the Chairman of WWF-Malaysia and MySDG Foundation, Professor of Practice at INCEIF

Nadiah Hanim Abdul Latif

Nadiah Hanim Abdul Latif is a prominent sustainability and social impact advocate, currently serving as the President of the Malaysian Rare Disorders Society. With over two decades of experience spanning corporate, NGO, social entrepreneurship, and humanitarian sectors, Nadiah is dedicated to fostering impactful collaborations. She champions causes such as climate resilience, business and human rights, social equity, youth empowerment, child rights, disability advocacy, and resource accessibility. As a dynamic speaker, trainer, and facilitator, Nadiah engages stakeholders at various levels, from grassroots advocacy to international forums like the UN General Assembly. She is also a consultant in sustainability and corporate affairs, a board trustee, an adjunct associate professor, and actively involved in social enterprises and rare disease advocacy globally.
Dr Matteo Lanzafame
Senior Economist, Asian Development Bank
Matteo Lanzafame is Senior Economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He is a macroeconomist and conducts research in many areas, with a particular focus on growth and development issues. He has several publications in peer-reviewed international academic journals. He is part of the team that produces ADB’s Asian Development Outlook and conducts macroeconomic surveillance and monitoring. Prior to joining ADB in 2019, Matteo was Associate Professor of Political Economy at the University of Messina, in Italy. He holds an MA in Development Economics and a PhD in Economics from the University of Kent in the UK.

Tehmina Kaoosji is a well-known Communications Consultant, Independent Broadcast Journalist, and Gender Equity Activist based in Kuala Lumpur. With over a decade of experience in live breaking news and current affairs programming, she has anchored shows for various media outlets including Astro Awani, Sinar Daily, and TV3 Malaysia. Tehmina has been recognized as a Thomson Reuters Foundation Fellow and a TedX Malaysia alumni, and has participated in international programs and workshops focused on media ethics and disinformation. She is known for her solid news judgment, engaging personality, and expertise in moderating high-level debates on a wide range of topics, including business, politics, women’s rights, and sustainable development. Additionally, Tehmina is a Partner & Communications Director at The Big Picture (TBP) Communications, where she works on advocacy and policy outcomes for international organizations and collaborates with civil society, particularly women’s rights organizations.

Director, Research at Khazanah Research Institute (KRI)
Suraya Ismail, PhD, is the Director of Research at Khazanah Research Institute (KRI). She serves as a council member for the National Costs of Living Council (NACCOL) and National Council of Digital Economy and 4IR. Suraya is also a member of the Panel of Experts (POE) for the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT). She is on the Advisory Board of Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre (SEAC) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and has been a Visiting Scholar at the Centre of Housing and Planning (CCHP), University of Cambridge. With a background in urban regeneration and quantity surveying, Suraya has contributed to policy reports, academic publications, and collaborative projects with organizations such as UN-Habitat and Fundacion Metropoli. She holds degrees from the University of Reading, the University of Malaya, and the Bartlett School, UCL, and is a Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institute of Surveyors, Malaysia (RISM).

Sustainable Development Lawyer, Partner, Kiu & Co
Kiu Jia Yaw is a sustainable development lawyer at Kiu & Co, specializing in systemic change, institutional reforms, and organizational transformation. He provides advisory services to policymakers, business leaders, and non-profit organizations, focusing on various sustainable development issues. As the Co-Chair of the Malaysian CSO-SDG Alliance, he collaborates with over 80 organizations dedicated to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Kiu Jia Yaw is a resource person for the All-Party Parliamentary Group of Malaysia on the Sustainable Development Goals, working with numerous parliamentarians on SDG-related projects nationwide. He also serves on the Bar Council Environment and Climate Change Committee and the ESG Committee of the KLSCCCI.

Wendy Teo is a ARB/RIBA (UK) Chartered Architect of Wendy Teo Atelier and founder of Borneo Laboratory, a multidisciplinary practice based in Borneo Malaysia. Teo is also a visiting scholar in Feng Chia University (Taiwan) as an Assistant Professor. In Teo’s research and pedagogical direction, she and her team focus on embedding social-culture dialogue in forming architectural innovation. Teo’s projects were endorsed by a number of international awards such as Holcim Sustainable Next Generation Award (First Prize), Archiprix, Threadneedle Prize et cetera. Her projects were exhibited across the UK, France, Germany, Slovenia, Turkey and Taiwan. Teo was nominated by the British Council as a fellow in 2018 ‘Woman of the Future’ South East chapter organised by AVIVA group.

Bertrand Jabouley

As regional Head of S&P Global Ratings’ Sustainable Finance, Bertrand leads the company’s initiatives in ESG materiality analysis and Second Party Opinions on Sustainable Financing and is the company’s spokesperson on sustainability considerations. Between 2011 and 2020, he was involved in credit ratings in Heavy industries and Services. In a previous life, Bertrand spent nine years in Paris with HSBC in several financing and credit advisory roles. In addition to an MBA from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), a postgraduate degree from the ESCP Europe business school (France), he is an EFFAS Certified ESG Analyst®, a holder of a Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate and a CFA charterholder.
Nur Ayuni Zainal Abidin
Principal Assistant Director, Energy Division, Ministry of Economy
Nur Ayuni is the Principal Assistant Director for petroleum at the Energy Division of the Ministry of Economy. She has extensive experience in policy formulation on energy, particularly in the petroleum sector, as well as energy transition, oil and gas services, and development projects for the national oil and gas industry. Starting her public service career in 2005, she has worked on environment, energy, United Nations, and policy and strategy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She holds a BSc in Molecular Biology and a Master’s degree in Public Management. In her spare time, Nur Ayuni is a writer, addressing various issues affecting the common people in her published fiction and non-fiction works.
Melati Wijsen
Founder, Bye Bye Plastic Bags and YOUTHTOPIA (Indonesia),Forbes’ Top 10 inspiring women in Indonesia
Melati Wijsen, a 22-year-old changemaker, founded Bye Bye Plastic Bags at the age of 12. She also launched One Island One Voice and the social enterprise Mountain Mamas. Melati’s impactful work earned her recognition, including two TED talks, speaking engagements at the United Nations, and being listed among Forbes’ top ten inspiring women in Indonesia.
